How have I not read this book before??? I’m hanging my head in shame!
The title: Ready for Flynn?.. READY FOR FLYNN?… well let me tell you, I was NOT in the least bit ready for Flynn or this amazing read! I was gripped from the first page and didn’t want to put the book down.
Valerie has been away helping her Aunt Joan after the loss of her husband. Valerie was happy to leave her small down and her cheating ex-boyfriend behind for a little while. After weeks away, she is finally excited to come for thanksgiving, Valerie cannot wait to see her family but mostly her big brother Martin who has been away at college.
Martin doesn’t come home empty handed, he brings his friend, Flynn. As soon as their eyes catch they both feel the connection but Valerie is only 15, and Flynn’s best friends little sister. All of Valerie’s brothers are extremely protective of her, so Flynn is made very aware just how off limits she is.
After Flynn leaves, Valerie is devastated but learns to move on and live life as a teenager. Years later, Flynn is the lead singer in a rock band who are breaking records everywhere but events happen that bring Flynn back and everyone’s world is flipped on its head. He has matured and helps Val in her darkest moments.
By 46% I was going dizzy with want, my heart was breaking, I kept thinking the world had something against me, I couldn’t take anymore and just needed a hug or vodka either would’ve done the trick. I was completely sucked in, living along with the characters and mesmerised by this book.
The story continues with Valerie becoming such a head strong young lady. She has overcome so much in her young years and starts her dream as a photographer. I’ve completely fell in love with these characters. Their story is such an emotional and beautiful one.
I have to applauded K.L. Shadwick’s writing style, it was exquisite. I felt like Alice in wonderland, but instead of falling down the Rabbit hole, I fell in to this fabulous book. The descriptions of people, their thoughts, feelings, were spot on. I felt like I was watching a movie develop instead of reading a book. No imagination was really needed because the book blossomed in front of my eyes and everything unfolded with every word I read!! I salute you Ms Shadwick!!
This is only Part One, and I cannot wait to see where this story goes in Part Two.

About the Author:
K. L. Shandwick started writing after a challenge by a friend when she commented on a book she read. The result of this was "The Everything Trilogy." Her background has been mainly in the health and social care sector in the U.K. She is still currently a freelance or self- employed professional in this field. Her books tend to focus on the relationships of the main characters. Writing is a form of escapism for her and she is just as excited to find out where her characters take her as she is when she reads another author's work.
